The RUS Service is the “New Expert Service for Sentinel Users” funded by the European Commission, managed by the European Space Agency, and operated by CS SI and its partners.

The main objectives of the RUS Service are:

  • To promote the uptake of Copernicus data;
  • To support the scaling up of R&D activities with Copernicus data.

To fulfil these objectives, the RUS Service offers a free access to powerful ICT platforms for processing data and developing technical solutions customized to users’ needs. It also provides a dedicated helpdesk for assistance and the organisation of regular training sessions

The portal is divided in 4 sections:

  • The RUS Service
  • The RUS Offer
  • The RUS Library
  • The RUS Community

The RUS Offer Section provides information on the type of Earth Observation data and products that can be used on the RUS portal, and also the type of support you can expect from the RUS Helpdesk to facilitate your access to such datasets.

The Copernicus Data Open Access Hub (previously known as SciHub,  Sentinels Scientific Data Hub) provides complete, free and open access to Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 user products, starting from the In-Orbit Commissioning Review (IOCR).

Persons outside the European Union willing to access the RUS Service should first liaise with us to check their eligibility. For such requests, the decision to grant them the access to the service will be made on a case-by-case basis.
